Pittsfield will be a GIG Town

The Town has entered into a contract with NSIGHT teleservices to extend fiber optic access to every residence in the Township.

Using largely Federal ARPA grant money, the town and Nsight have agreed to extend high speed internet access to all existing residences. Nsight will also continue to extend to developments and new homes as they come into the Town.

With this infrastructure truly high-speed internet will be available to all homes and businesses with minimum average speed of 100 Mbps down and 25 Mbps up and the options for gigabyte download and upload speeds.

Main lines will go in during the summer of 2023 with home connections in 2024.

Water Update Meeting

The Town Board will hold an informational meeting on Dec. 13th at 7 pm at the Community Center to discuss the Pulaski Water Line that will be running through the Town. There will be information relating to the line and the steps the Town has taken to possibly become a water partner with Pulaski.

FUTURE WATER/SEWER

During April’s Annual meeting the prospect of water services being brought into the Town was discussed. The overwhelming position of the crowd was that the Town should explore that option.

At the June Town Board meeting this topic will be discussed by the Board. I have asked the Town Attorney to explain what steps would be taken to accomplish the creation of a Water Utility. This not an overnight process and the Town must be ready if this needs to be done. The possibility of another possible future sewer district, this will also be discussed.

The agenda shows the following:

9.  Discussion regarding establishment of a new water and/or sewer district

This is an open public meeting.

Meeting is on THURSDAY JUNE 9th at the community center.

The board meeting starts immediately following the Planning meeting, which starts at 6 pm.
