Town Parks Committee

The Town of Pittsfield is seeking 5 individuals who are interested in serving on the Park Committee, duties that apply are as such, but not limited to; 

Developing a recommended budget and plan for annual operation, upkeep, and repair of the Town Park.  Managing the park budget and implementing the park plan.   Recommending such rules and regulations as it deems necessary to effectuate its duties and responsibilities.   Recommending fees for the use of the Town’s Park.  Preparing needs assessments and otherwise performing work related to the establishment of a parks impact fee.   Creating or maintaining a recommended Outdoor Recreation Plan for the Town.  Performing such other duties as directed by the Town Board. 

Those who serve will be approved for 2 years, and meeting on a quarterly basis, or as needed.

Pittsfield Cemetery Maintenance and Cleanup.

On May 23rd, a team of Teachers and Students from the Bayview Middle School teamed up to clean/groom and repair Headstones, and the overall appearance of the Pittsfield Cemetery off County Truck B.
The efforts of the Teachers and Students is a great way to learn about history, and at the same time impact the community in a positive way.
The Town’s elected Officials and Employees would like to send out a heartfelt Thank You to those involved in this effort for a great cause.

The Town of Pittsfield swore in New Chairperson Scott Mielke, and incumbent Supervisors Brandon Holewinski, and Mike Bodart.

Chairman Keith Deneys, retired after 20 years of service. The Town Members thanked Keith for his dedication and years of service.

Assembly member Elijah Behnke and Stan Kaczmarek Presented Chairman Deneys a Citation by Assembly from the Sixth District, thanking him for the 20 years of Service, he was also given a Resolution 25-01 from the Town of Pittsfield with a clock thanking Chairman Deneys from the town for his 20 years of Excellent Service.

Seasonal Weight Limits

The seasonal Spring weight limits for all Town of Pittsfield roads will go into effect on Wednesday March 5th, 2025.

Signs will go up this weekend, Enforcement will start Wednesday morning.

Limited permitting will be allowed for emergency situations.

Planning Committee and Board of Appeals Vacancy

With the retirement of Chairman Deneys and members Brianna Kupsky and Dennis Parmar stepping down, the Town will need people to fill positions on the Planning Committee and Board of Appeals.

Please review the below information and if interested in serving on either committee, email or mail (information below) to the Town Clerk with a letter outlining your skills and qualifications prior to March 18th, 2025.

Planning Committee – The Committee provides oversight that assists our community in governing growth and future development. The committee oversees the town’s development review processes, site plan reviews, rezoning, conditional use and special use permits, variance requests, and proposed amendments to ordinances. The committee is also responsible for developing and updating the Town’s Comprehensive Plan and assisting in the preparation of adopted plans, ordinances, zoning policies, planning documents and maps. Membership is for two years with meetings monthly generally on the second Tuesday of the month at 6 pm.

Board of Appeals – The Board of Appeals is a body appointed to hear and decide appeals, interpret the Zoning Ordinance, and to approve or deny variances. Another responsibility of the Board is to provide an appeal mechanism for property owners who believe that the Town has made an error in interpreting the zoning ordinance. The Board only meets when needed, generally once or twice a year.

Lot Size Ordinance Sub Committee Information

A subcommittee of the Town Planning Committee was tasked with looking at lot sizes and setbacks for the Town, comparing with other jurisdictions and coming up with recommendations. The attached graphs show the work of the subcommittee. The Town Planning committee will continue to discuss this issue. A public hearing will be held in the future for input.
